We explored how sun cream protects our skin from the sun as part of our Seaside Topic.
Mrs Norton drew a sun on Darcy’s and Elijah’s hands with an invisible security marker.
We could see these very clearly when we shone the UV light on them.
Then Elijah and Darcy rubbed Factor 50 sun cream and hand cream with no SPF on their hands.
When we shone the UV light on their hands again, we couldn’t see the sun covered by sun cream but the sun covered by hand cream was still very visible.
This showed us how sun cream with a high protection factor protects our skin against the harmful UV rays in the sun.
