A month ago our class began conducting an experiment to see how quickly various items would decompose. We placed an apple core, banana skin, orange peel and some paper in a container with compost. Yesterday we investigated what had happened. In a month, the apple and banana remains had rotted away completely. Half of the paper was also gone. The orange peel was still visible.
