Investigation into how different surfaces and heights affected the speed/ distance travelled by a toy car.
We carried out a fair test to see how fast and far a toy car travelled down a ramp. We tested 4 different surfaces to see how they affected the speed/ distance travelled. We found that the car travelled faster and further over the smoothest surface. The increased friction from carpet and sandpaper surfaces slowed the car down and reduced the distance travelled.
We also found that the car travelled faster and further when the height of the ramp increased.
