On Wednesday 15th March our hockey team travelled to Newry to compete in the qualifying tournament for the Northern Ireland finals. The girls had a full day of hockey ahead with the goal of reaching the final in order to qualify. They played 6 group games winning them all comfortably and topping the group. The semi final proved to be another straight forward encounter and was easily won. So far the girls had not conceded a goal, in fact our goal keeper Ellie hadn't even had to make a save. The girls reached the final and thus secured a place on finals day. They were to face Abercorn in the final and by this stage they had run out of steam, they fought hard and put in a great effort but unfortunately lost 2 nil. The girls had a great day and now are in preparations for the finals on the 29th March.
