We have been learning about Instructional Writing. We tried out a set of instructions about washing our hands. We soon realised that instructions needed to have special bossy verbs, order and illustrations to make them easy to follow. We tried to make a paper ladybird without instructions but it was very hard. When we had instructions it was much easier. We rehearsed the instructions that you would need to cross the road safely before we tried to write our own. Now we all know what makes Instructional Writing special. Mrs Snoddy put our super leaflets on the washing line. They look bright and interesting.
