Our hockey girls had a busy start to term 2 playing in the Mid Ulster Tournament and the Mid Ulster League 1 Tournament at the end of January and start of February.
The Mid Ulster Tournament was the first time our girls had really got to play together as a team and on a proper playing surface and they put on a brave display across the three games that they played.
They drew against Armstrong in their first game and despite some excellent hockey they lost out to both Maralin and Edenderry Banbridge in the next two games.
For the Mid Ulster League 1 Tournament we were able to field 2 teams and with a bit more practice under their belts the girls put on a much improved display throughout the afternoon playing some excellent hockey. They lost out to Edenderry Banbridge once again but it took a goal on the final whistle for them to secure the win. The girls then emerged victorious against Abercorn and Cookstown and they finished the day with a draw against Waringstown.
Our B side had two great games against Edenderry Banbridge & Waringstown narrowly missing out on the victory in both these games.
